My Statement

For Charlie.

In my lifetime, I never thought I would ever have to write about what I am about to write. I don’t want to write about this. I know I have to do this, because I need to report the truth. For better or for worse.

Charlie James Kirk, Christian, Husband, Father of two, Eagle Scout, Founder of Turning Point USA, and American Patriot, was murdered yesterday by an assassin's bullet. It occurred at 12:20pm MDT, at Utah Valley College while he hosted one of his many iconic college campus debates. He was murdered mid-event while doing what he loved: Engaging in thought provoking civil dialogue with his fellow Americans.

I am very fucking angry about this.

I will never forget where I was the day this news unfolded. I was returning home from my local gym for a training session. I was flipping through my Spotify, and I had my phone connected to one of those holders that keep your phone upright while hands free. Out of the blue I got a Twitter alert—yes I still call it Twitter, not X—saying, “PRAY FOR CHARLIE KIRK!”. I was at very long red light, so I had time to check real quick. Then I saw the post about what happened…the second the light turned green I immediately hit the gas pedal so I could speed home. My mother was home and she cared about Charlie just as much as I did. I had to be the first one to tell her the news. Fortunately, I made it home in time, so I was. We waited over two hours for updates, praying for a miracle. It was at 2:40 MDT when President Trump made the announcement of Kirk’s death on Truth Social.

This…this was something very personal to me. Not just to me, but to my family, my friends, and tens of millions, possibly hundreds of millions of Americans and people around the world are reacting the same way about Kirk’s murder. For the people that don’t understand, whether Left or Right-Wing, I am not sure many people actually understand the direct impact Charlie Kirk had on the modern conservative movement in the United States.

Founded 13 years ago on June 5, 2012, Charlie Kirk launched Turning Point USA creating what would become one of the most successful and influential youth-led grassroots organizations in American politics. With over 800 chapters on college and high school campuses, Turning Point became very popular thanks to Kirk’s firebrand leadership for promoting conservative ideologies. Along with other groups such as Prager University and Young Americans for Freedom, Charlie Kirk played a major in both discovering and platforming other like-minded conservatives that he could have the star-power to change the world. Individuals such as Candace Owens, Brandon Tatum, James O’Keefe, Savanah Hernandez, Rogan O’Handley, David Leatherwood, Anna Paulina Luna, Graham Allen, David Harris Jr., The Hodge Twins, Isabel Brown, Rob Smith, and so many others. Their fame and influence helped forge the worldview of millions of Americans around the country for the better.

Charlie Kirk also changed my life for the better too. I first discovered Charlie on Instagram when I followed him right before the 2016 election. It was through his speeches and debate videos I gained so much knowledge about current events and American history beyond what I was being taught in my classrooms. I had the opportunity to meet him twice at a couple events, but they were just for photo ops. Even better though, thanks to attending Turning Point’s events I got to befriend some of the greatest people I could know that were just like me: young-and-hungry Generation Z conservatives that wanted to change the world for the better. I am so grateful I got to meet each and every one of them, and I am very excited for the future we are going to build…I am just heartbroken Charlie won’t get to see that future…

To most of the general public, I do not think many understand the gravity of this assassination. This does not happen to just any random public figure. This might upset some people as a kind of false equivalence, but honestly I would put this tragedy in the same camp as the assassinations of JFK, MLK, Bobby Kennedy, and Malcom X. Men who were silenced as a result of permanently changing the course of American politics and culture that was out of the establishment’s control. Charlie Kirk is no different. For years many on the Left in the Democratic establishment believed that a monopoly of the Gen Z would be inevitable to them, President Biden even believed that, “there will be no Republican Party,” by the year 2024.

Little did they know, no one in American politics understood the playbook to winning over Generation Z voters better than Charlie. From his student conferences, to his podcast, to his charisma in his online presence, he single-handedly changed the landscape of how the youth choose to align politically for decades to come. In fact, according to pew research data, it was revealed that among male voters between 18-29 years of age, they shifted R+44 in just 2 years since 2023. Then just very recently Charlie Kirk was set for a major trip to the nations of Japan and South Korea to lead the same fire-up of the conservative youth over there, just like what he did in America. I guarantee you by the year 2040 came around he absolutely would have ran for President. Now we will never know…all because the powers that be felt he was in the way of their radical agenda…

That is another reason why I and others like myself are furious about what happened. For those who have been observant of the trends of the last several years, it is apparent that through the media, through Hollywood, and through our government that they have launched an inherent War on Right Wing Americans. They did it with the smear campaigns against Nick Sandmann and Kyle Rittenhouse, with the onslaught of online censorship by Big Tech, the FBI raiding the homes conservative journalists and influencers, the character assasination of patriotic symbols by our own government, to the deaths of individuals for their political beliefs prior like Bernell Tremell and Cayler Ellington. And of course, the endless compilation of the Right-Wing apparatus to be labeled fascists, neo-nazis, radicals, threats to America. This divisive rhetoric is precisely what has led to where we are today. It is precisely what almost led to what could have been the death of President Trump last year Butler, PA had divine intervention not make him turn his head at just right moment. Which sadly still led to the death of firefighter, husband, and father Corey Comparatore. And now which led to Charlie Kirk's assassination…

His death felt so much more than losing a celebrity type figure. To millions, he was like a friend, a mentor, a hero. However, none of those titles matter any more than that of husband to his beautiful wife Erika, and father to his infant daughter and son. Look at this video.

That is what they robbed his family of. A loving godly husband and father that they will never be able to see again.

I am still fuming. I don’t know when or if I’ll ever stop. I am also scared though, because this is the reality we live in. I don’t care if it is a fringe minority, we live in a time where people can have, not just their lives ruined, but also their life taken from them, is wrong on so many levels. I understand this sounds like a lot of stating the obvious but we need to set the record straight:

I do not care what your political beliefs are!! Literally NO ONE deserves to die for having a different opinion!

To my friends on the political Right, whether you are a Republican, conservative, libertarian, or classical liberal, please continue to choose perseverance and resilience. Be proud of your values and principles you stand for. At the same time, please simultaneously choose safety as well. Every one of your lives is worth more than any currency in the world. I would hate the idea of the worst case scenario happening to any one of you.

To my Left-leaning friends, whether you are a Democrat, progressive, socialist, Marxist, or anything else, I want you to know I acknowledge that not everyone on your side is happy about this. In fact, all of you had told me directly your very first response was to condemn this wholeheartedly no matter who this was. I also care for the necessity of all of your lives safety, and ability to speak freely for what is true for your values. If you see anyone celebrating what is going on, please call them out. The same applies vice-versa to the conservative side too.

I just…ugh…I hate this. I hate this so much. We will never know what his life would have looked like in 50 to 60 years. We will never get to see him run for President. He will never get to celebrate his 50th wedding anniversary. He will never get to see his children grow and start their own families. Nothing is ever going to be the same after this tragedy. Honestly, it shouldn’t be the same.

We have passed the ultimate rubicon of the modern political era. I can only imagine what comes next. The opposition has no idea what they have just unleashed, especially to the tune of nearly 100 million Americans. I will explain more about this very soon. Until then, everyone please take your time to mourn and grief. Your feelings are more than valid at this time.

To Erika Kirk and your children, on behalf of everyone that cares, I am so, so sorry for your loss.

To Charlie, our hero, our freedom fighter until the end, thank you for everything you did to save our Republic. We know you did all you could. We will take it from here.
